Me hard at work hammering the tin roof
This past weekend a couple friends and I spent 4 days in a small community near Archahaie called La Hatte, volunteering to build houses with the non-profit organization "Un Techo para mi pais". I have to be honest this wasn't a piece of cake at all, sleeping bags, no lights, no power, early mornings, aren't quite my things but seeing the faces of the family upon completion of the house made it all worth it, here are a few pictures of those moments. For more information on Techo click HERE . Click Read More for more pics...
The hardest part, digging up the foundation and setting of the floor
Making sure the nails are alined
Resting in the shade to refuel on energy
Assuring stability
Nailing hinges for the windows
The whole crew with the family
Project complete, total satisfaction!
